Pete Prisco of CBS Sports has dropped his annual list of overrated and underrated players for each team in the NFL. Here's who he picked as the most underrated Chicago Bear.
Underrated: CB Tim Jennings. He isn't elite like some Bears fans would make you think, but he is coming off an impressive season. The question now is whether he can do it again.
Don't count me among those that believe Jennings is elite. I think he's a good player that recognized a deficiency in his game, and worked very hard to improve last off season. If he continues the physical aspect of his game, and maintains his new found ball skills, then I think you'll find him again listed as a Top 100 type player. If he can snag another nine interceptions, and return to the Pro Bowl, I may revisit my thinking on him being elite.
My underrated Chicago Bear is Major Wright.
I still find myself correcting people that knock him for being injury prone. Wright played in all 16 games last year, yet he's still thought of as brittle. Each season he's gotten better, and with another year in a familiar defense, I expect his play to improve again.
Now it's your turn, who do you peg as the most underrated Chicago Bear?
