Every minute counts - Jon Greenberg: The new first-day conditioning test set the tone physically and it looks like the next couple of weeks will test the players mentally, as Trestman keeps his camp fast-paced.
Bears put pads on, but precaution paramount - Brad Biggs: There is working hard and working smart, and the Bears are aiming to do both while protecting a roster that hasn't had any noticeable injuries through the first three days of practice.
Cutler Watch - Adam L. Jahns: When given time, Cutler was able to connect with Marshall, Jeffery and Martellus Bennett for big gains. Trestman was ‘really pleased’ with his QBs.
Matt Bowen: Scouting the Bears - As expected, experienced Bears defense has the jump on the offense during the first practice in pads Sunday; the depth of Trestman's playbook will take time to perfect.
Trestman unfazed by O-line’s spotty first practice in pads - Mark Potash: The news wasn’t that the Bears’ O-line struggled in the first practice in pads, but that the coach acknowledged it.
Position battle - Moon Mullin: For a change, J’ Webb isn’t the top OL concern as competition is underway for the RG position.
Long gets physical in pass-rush drill - Jeff Dickerson: The rookie will undoubtedly commit the occasional rookie mistake this season. But any questions regarding his strength were quickly answered on Sunday.
Observations from camp - Jeff Dickerson: Jeffery shines for third straight day; Marquess Wilson also making plays; revamped O-line predictably experienced growing pains in blitz pick-up.
