Chicago Bears Training Camp: August 13 Open Thread

Bears training camp 2013 comes to a close with today's final session

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

The Bears close out their training camp with Kyle Long and Jordan Mills expected to continue to get reps on the first unit offensive line, in preparation for Thursday's game against the Chargers. Has The Nation played his way out of a starting role or, as Trestman says, are they indeed simply trying a different look before the games count?

In other news, the injuries are piling up, the position battles continue at WR and on the DL - but may be over for Tress Way - and the defense are continuing to make plays, with Lance Briggs holding the ball aloft like a trophy as he ran back an interception for a score. Mere boyish exuberance on the part of the defense or a sign that players are getting antsy and the games can't come soon enough?

What are you looking out for today? It's your last chance!

For reference, the key dates ahead for August are:

Thursday 15th - Preseason game 2 v. San Diego
Friday 23rd - Preseason game 3 at Oakland
Tuesday 27th - Rosters cut from 90 to 75.
Thursday 29th - Preseason game 4 v. Cleveland
Saturday 31st - Final roster cuts (to 53).

Obviously, stay tuned as WCG will be providing comprehensive coverage.
