NFL Preseason Sunday Open Thread

Two more preseason games are on the slate for today, the final ones of the "preseason games that matter" category. Come watch them with us!

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport

Just two more preseason week 3 contests after yesterday's battle royale of games. But, that doesn't mean they aren't important and/or watchable. Now, next week? Might be a different story. Unless you like massive amounts of borderline backups. Maybe you're into that kind of thing. Or maybe it's because football, who knows.

4:00 PM ET
New Orleans Saints at Houston Texans
Reason to Watch:
The Saints have to keep pace with the Falcons this year in the NFC South. The Texans, projected as favorites in last year's AFC South, got to watch it all fall to a suddenly resurgent Colts team. Which team is better prepared to make a push this year?

8:00 PM ET
Minnesota Vikings at San Francisco 49ers
Reason to Watch:
The Vikings have themselves a really good third preseason game, as they get to see if they can measure up to one of the NFC's projected elite without it mattering for anything. And watching an NFC North opponent is always fun.

Wait a sec, I found non-sarcastic reasons to watch both of these preseason games?
