NFL Power Rankings: Chicago Bears are rising

Let's peek in on a few of the NFL Power Rankings from around the web and see how the Chicago Bears fared after week one.

In case you had an EMP go off in your general vicinity, and was in the dark about Sunday's NFL action, the Chicago Bears beat a good Cincinnati Bengals team 24-21. It was an impressive enough victory that the Bears shot up various Power Rankings. We'll spotlight a few of them for your reading pleasure.

The Mothership, SB Nation, ranked the Bears at #9, up from 15 last week.

Jay Cutler thinks Marc Trestman's offense is "ballsy." A fair assessment, but after Lovie Smith's tenure just playing offense with a purpose probably feels liberating.

And here are a few Power Rankings from our various sister sites from around the SBN.

Mile High Report, who cover the Denver Broncos, had the Bears shoot up to seven from eleven.

This spot was either going to be the Bengals or Bears. Judging by their game on Sunday,

The Phinsider, who has the Miami Dolphins covered, gives the Bears a four place bump to twelve.

Came back to win after falling behind early. Good performance from Jay Cutler.

The Tennessee Titans SBN site, Music City Miracles, moved the Bears up to nine and managed to take a shot at Jay Cutler.

Jay Cutler chucks it around the yard with no concern for where it goes. It worked this week.

Cincy Jungle, gave mad props to Chicago after beating their team, moving the Bears up to six from thirteen.

Gave the game away mostly on mental mistakes, Andy Dalton looked good in debut though

Acme Packing Company, purveyors of all things Packers, as the Bears one spot below Green Bay at nine.

The Bears surprised me this week - they somehow kept Jay Cutler upright against a tough Bengals pass rush and pulled out a late win. Plus, despite being torched by A.J. Green, the defense made enough plays to keep it close early on. I don't think they're better than the Packers, but they look solid.

And now we'll look at some non SBN sites that rank teams based on their immense Power.

ESPN has the Bears at nine, up from fourteen.

Jay Cutler was 8-of-10 for 94 yards and a touchdown against at least five rushers Sunday against the Bengals.

Pete Prisco of CBSSports has them at nine, up six from fifteen.

I love the way they responded when they fell behind. The turnovers keep coming for the aggressive defense.

FOX Sports and Brian Bilick had them up four spots to seven.

The Bears may be without Lovie Smith and Brian Urlacher but not much has changed. Led by Peanut Tillman, the Bears forced three turnovers and that was too much to overcome for what many consider to be the best team in the AFC in the Bengals.

Yahoo had the Bears only move up one spot, to seven.

Nice win against a very good Bengals team. Jay Cutler played well late. There were some good signs.
