WCG Pick 'Em: Week 2

Each week, the first ten members who make their picks in the comment section will be counted. Think you can do as well as our WCG staffers?

Elsa

Rules: Make your picks in the comments section, in the order below, using only the 2-3 letter abbreviation of the winning team. Please follow this format as failure to do so could disqualify your entry. First ten members to make their selections get in. When a scoring tie occurs, the winner is chosen by the member who entered their picks first.

As was the case last year, there will be an overall winner for each quarter based on best weekly record for those four weeks. Quarterly winners will be entered into the week 17 championship. We're still working on the grand prize(s) for this year, and we'll keep you posted once we figure out the specifics.

WEEK 1 COMMUNITY RESULTS

Congratulations to last week's winner, badsamaritan, who had an impressive 12-4 group of picks... the best of all entrants, including the writers. That's a great start to the season, and a pretty high bar for anyone hoping to overcome them as the Q1 champion.

  1. badsamaritan: 12-4
  2. 75bearsfan: 12-4
  3. Ditkavsworld: 11-5
  4. Doshi: 11-5
  5. BearNecessities: 11-5
  6. thepreacher: 11-5
  7. lmfsilva: 11-5
  8. Bear4Ever: 10-6
  9. Gruss72: 9-7
  10. johnbegone: 8-8

To the 8-8 (and last place of ALL players) johnbegone... Ha ha, you fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia," but only slightly less well-known is this: "Never go in against the Bears, at home, in the opening week of the season!"
