Cutler

Cutler, Trestman cool when it counts - Mike Imrem: NFL QBs and play callers earn their salaries during the final two or three minutes of close games. Cutler and Trestman earned theirs in the Bears' victory over the Vikings.

Jay Cutler gives the Bears a drive - Steve Rosenbloom: QB completed 7 of 10 for 76 yards to four different targets on the drive, converting all three first downs and managing the clock excruciatingly well.

'Mr. Fourth Quarter' delivers again for Bears - Bob LeGere: The Bears overcame a stubborn Vikings team and their own 4 turnovers to come from behind for the second straight week.

Mr. Fourth Quarter does it again - Brad Biggs: Cutler hasn't always been Mr. Fourth Quarter. Until last season that actually has been the worst quarter for him statistically, But with the game on the line, Cutler was poised and didn't force any throws.

Cutler establishing reputation as Mr. Fourth Quarter - Jon Greenberg: "Jay is a guy that he'll give you a chance," Packers CB Charles Woodson said a year ago. "You just need to be in position." A year later, that assessment still rings true. But for all the right reasons for the Bears.

Jay Cutler’s the man, despite his faults - Rick Morrissey: Football purists might have cringed at all the messiness of this game, but there was a terrible beauty to it. That pretty much describes Cutler, too, both on this Sunday and lots of other Sundays..

Inside the Bears’ game-winning drive - Adam Hoge: The Bears’ 66-yard game-winning march down the field was an exhibition of communication, calmness and most importantly, execution, and said just as much about Trestman as it did Cutler.

Trust gives Bears a 'different' QB when it matters - Moon Mullin: What has changed Cutler is simply more confidence in what he’s hearing not only through his headset on game days, but all week from his coaches. [Video] View from the Moon.

[Video] PostGame Live: 15 on 6 - Jim Miller: Cutler comes through when he needs to, could care less about Jay's sideline demeano(u)r. Yes, but how much less?

More from the game

Game review - Dan Durkin: It seems fitting that such an odd, back-and-forth, punch-counter punch, roller coaster ride of a game went down to the wire and was decided by one point. Dan Bernstein: That was insane.

Martellus Bennett stings Vikings - David Haugh: Perhaps nothing symbolizes how the Bears have caught up to the league more than the emergence of the TE position. For all Bennett's silliness, he brings a smartness to the huddle that shouldn't go overlooked

Martellus Bennett huge in the clutch - Adam L. Jahns: Bennett continues to show why he was signed and why Kellen Davis is no longer here. In two games, Bennett already has surpassed Davis’ TD total from last season with three. He has 10 catches in two games. Davis had 19 in 16.

Forte recovers from fumble, helps pull out victory - Rich Campbell: Bears RB won't let miscue ruin one of his most productive games. Seth Gruen: Unlike Lovie, Trestman able to use Forte’s versatility.

Confident Bears getting it done - Barry Rozner: Winning two games they had every right to lose is a good sign that the Bears can fight through the growing pains and survive a long season.

Bears making habit of showing up when it matters most - Rick Telander: The Bears seem to have the ability to fool around until the last offensive possibility arrives. It’s a little nerve-wracking, but so far so good.

Bears' D 'still trying to figure it out' - Michael C. Wright: The defense isn't performing at a level it wants to be, but what it did against Minnesota was actually better than things looked. Rich Campbell: Nate Collins' forced fumble helps contain AP.

Ticked-off Hester has career day on kickoffs - Jeff Dickerson: Three-time Pro Bowl return man seethed with anger on the sideline as Minnesota rookie Cordarrelle Patterson returned the game’s opening kickoff 105 yards for a TD.
