In the 4th quarter of the Bears contest versus the Pittsburgh Steelers, Henry Melton was carted off the field and into the locker room after injuring his left leg.
The Bears pass rush was already an issue versus Ben Roethlisberger, but losing Melton will be an even bigger blow. The Pro Bowl defensive tackle was injured when rushing Bug Ben on a 2nd down play early in the 4th quarter, and will not return.
The Bears have gotten to Roethlisberger a few times tonight, but the defensive line has not been effective. Multiple linebacker blitzes, and a few from the defensive backs, have added pressure, but the front four have been surprisingly rendered ineffective.
In that possession, the Steelers were able to add a field goal, bringing the score to 27-23 in favor of Chicago.
As we learn more on Melton's condition, following what can assumed will be x-rays, we will update.
