Chicago Bears fans wondered why their guy, 2nd year wide out Alshon Jeffery, was snubbed in the Pro Bowl selection process back in December in favor of these receivers: Antonio Brown, Dez Bryant, Josh Gordon, A.J. Green,Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall, and Demaryius Thomas.
Earlier today the NFL announced that with Detroit's Calvin Johnson set for knee surgery, the Bears would have both their wide receivers heading to Hawaii.
Must Reads
Jeffery had a phenomenal season for the Bears. He set the single game franchise receiving yardage record a couple of times, his 1,421 receiving yards are 2nd most all-time, and his 89 receptions are 6th best in Chicago's history.
Alshon Jeffery will join Brandon Marshall, and running back Matt Forte, to represent the Bears in the newly redesigned Pro Bowl. Gone are the NFC and AFC teams, and instead Hall of Famers Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders will select their teams "school yard" style on January 22nd.
There's a chance that Chicago's triad of offensive excellence will be on opposing teams.
I wonder if Sanders or Rice will call out their pick as Alshon Jefferies?
