Just when you thought the Bears had found rock bottom after their loss to the Dolphins, today's game against the Patriots handed them a drill to dig deeper.
It's only a game in the sense that that's the word you'd use to describe it, because it was a blowout from the word go. Rob Gronkowski caught three touchdown passes. Brandon LaFell and Tim Wright also scored touchdowns. The Bears were down 31-7 in the first half before Jay Cutler was held up on a sack and a fumble forced, which was promptly returned for a touchdown.
Whatever words were used last week by Brandon Marshall in the locker room, they apparently didn't have the intended effect.
This loss stinks from the top down, one of those games that everything goes wrong, nothing goes right, and everything's out of hand before anything actually matters, including both of Jay Cutler's touchdowns and both of Jay Cutler's turnovers.
We'll still have Notes for you in the morning, because we still have some things to discuss. But for now, discuss the loss here.
