Matt Forte should have explosive day versus the Panthers

A week removed from an offensive meltdown versus the Green Bay Packers, the Chicago Bears and Matt Forte should have a solid rebound against the Panthers.

So far this season, Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte is averaging right at 4.0 yards per carry, with his biggest game to date coming last week in the loss to the Green Bay Packers. Forte ended with 122 yards rushing and 49 yards receiving, the perfect compliment to the big wide receivers in Marc Trestman's offense.

Up next, Matt Forte and the Chicago offense lines up against a middle-of-the-road defense in the Carolina Panthers. Overall, the Panthers sit in the middle third of the league when it comes to defensive stats, but they rank 27th against the run.

Matt Forte historically has big games against the Panthers, and this week should be no different. After Jay Cutler's rough outing versus the Packers last week, we should expect Marc Trestman to be a little more conservative, run a lot more high-percentage plays, and utilize Matt Forte as much as last week.

The only issue will be if the Panthers offense gets out to a quick start and puts the Bears in a hole early, but even if that happens Trestman will likely stick to the ground and pound just to boost the offensive confidence.

From a fantasy standpoint, Matt Forte should deliver.  Let us know if you've got him in any of your leages today, and while we're at it, throw in some over/under predictions below:

Yards rushing: 100.5

Total yards: 140.4

Rushing TD's: 1.5

Total TD's: 2.5
