Chicago Bears waive David Bass, promote Louis-Jean, and make practice squad moves

The Bears are having themselves a big ole personnel Tuesday. That Monday film review must have been BAD

From the team, coming off the heels of Frey being cut earlier:

Louis-Jean had a preseason with some flashes.  With just two starts and 21 games in three seasons at Boston College, he was able to turn a rookie minicamp into a training camp spot and then a practice squad.  Not bad for a kid who is 20.

The David Bass news is indeed interesting, because that means they are looking at having one more spot open, possibly for additional safety depth or a different DL for rotation. Still carrying an injured Shea McClellin, and with Bostic having some back issues, they could also bring in another LB, or possibly even another returner like a Trindon Holliday who worked out early today.

And in news for all you practice squad lovers:

Linebackers to groom to special teamers.  Getting rid of people who would never see the field.  The bottom roster churn continues.
