From the team, coming off the heels of Frey being cut earlier:
#Bears have waived CB Isaiah Frey & DE David Bass and promoted CB Al Louis-Jean from practice squad to 53-man roster.

Louis-Jean had a preseason with some flashes. With just two starts and 21 games in three seasons at Boston College, he was able to turn a rookie minicamp into a training camp spot and then a practice squad. Not bad for a kid who is 20.
The David Bass news is indeed interesting, because that means they are looking at having one more spot open, possibly for additional safety depth or a different DL for rotation. Still carrying an injured Shea McClellin, and with Bostic having some back issues, they could also bring in another LB, or possibly even another returner like a Trindon Holliday who worked out early today.
And in news for all you practice squad lovers:
#Bears also make practice squad moves, signing LBs DeDe Lattimore and Terrell Manning & cutting DT Roy Philon and WR/KR Rashad Ross.

Linebackers to groom to special teamers. Getting rid of people who would never see the field. The bottom roster churn continues.
