Week 10 Thursday Night Football open thread: Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals

Two - four - six - eight, whom do we appreciate?

Andy Lyons

It's an all AFC North affair for the opening game of week 10 of the 2014 NFL season, as the Cleveland Browns travel to face the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Browns, who managed to knock off the New Orleans Saints - but also to lose to the Jacksonville Jaguars - en route to a 5-3 record, have lost 17 straight intradivisional games on the road; their previous away win in the AFC North was in late September of 2008.  With five wins, they have already surpassed their total of four from last season despite being without currently-suspended Josh Gordon and, with one Johnny Manziel making noise about being frustrated with sitting on the bench, Brian Hoyer is playing well enough to keep his job.

The Bengals are just ahead at 5-2-1 so there's all to play for tonight.  The teams are tied for 30th in terms of rushing yardage per game, and expect Andy Dalton to look for A.J. Green against a Browns defense that hasn't performed to expectations coming into the season.

If you're in need of a drinking game, take a chug every time the commentary team mention Bengals DT Devon Still or his daughter Leah, who is recovering from surgery and strong enough to watch her father play for the first time.  You might die, but it'll have been in celebrating the best feel-good story of this NFL season.

I keeed; drink and open thread responsibly!
