NFL week 13 Monday Night Football open thread: Miami Dolphins at New York Jets

Can Rex Ryan pull another win out of the hat?

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

It's an all-AFC East clash on Monday Night Football, as the 3rd-placed Miami Dolphins travel to face the last-placed New York Jets at the MetLife Stadium.

At 6-5, the Dolphins are looking to draw level with the Buffalo Bills, who currently sit one place above them at 7-5, two wins behind 9-3 division leaders the New England Patriots.  Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has quietly been putting together a very solid third campaign, currently ranking third in the league with a 70.9 completion percentage, and will look to bounce back from a heartbreaking 36-39 road loss to the Denver Broncos.

The Jets, who are languishing at 2-9 off the back of three straight losses, have turned back to Geno Smith as their starting quarterback - most likely at general manager John Idzik's behest in an attempt to salvage (or, at least, evaluate) their second-round investment of the 2013 draft, reportedly against head coach Rex Ryan's wishes.  On the other hand, apparently Rex got wind of Idzik's plan to replace him following the 2014 season before it even kicked off.  And you thought the Bears were dysfunctional.

Have fun and, as usual, keep it cool like Schweickert.
