Even Virginia McCaskey thinks the Chicago Bears suck

Yes, Virginia, the Bears are a bad team.

Well how about that. Seemingly as displeased as most Bears fans are, Virginia McCaskey's word still holds a lot of sway:

Dan Bernstein, currently killing it on the Bears sources, wrote that that Virginia McCaskey's disapproval of the state of the franchise helped spur George McCaskey into action.  Says the article:

"She told George that she was embarrassed," a source told 670 The Score on the condition of anonymity. "It was in no uncertain terms. She made it very clear how she felt about the current state of the team, and that resonated deeply with George."

While not big news, it does show how unique the franchise is in current NFL climate, and how deep the old system went.  It also makes sense - Virginia McCaskey is 91 years old, and surely the family would like to have the team pointing in the right direction during her late years.

With the firings of Trestman and Emery, as well as the apparent re-alignment of the overall football structure, George McCaskey seems determined to make that happen. The next question is whether he's got the know-how to make it happen.
