Do you think the Chicago Bears will make a splash in free agency?

The NFL free agency negotiating window is now open. Teams can legally tamper with unrestricted free agents in advance of the official start of the 2014 NFL year, March 11th at 3:00pm Central. Are you expecting the Chicago Bears to make a significant free agent signing?

We're a few days away from the start of the National Football League year. On Tuesday, March 11th, at 4pm Eastern, NFL free agency will officially begin and teams can also execute trades at this time.

We're currently in the negotiating window for teams to talk contracts with free agents. Read more of those rules HERE.

There will be plenty of rumors of who's meeting with whom, and where player X is slated to go, but until Tuesday no pen can be put to paper. Teams will be lining up visits and gauging interest, and agents will be trying to get a handle on the market for their clients.

Two years ago, Chicago Bears general manager Phil Emery sent two 3rd round draft picks to the Miami Dolphins for wide receiver Brandon Marshall at the start of the league year.

Last year, Emery signed left tackle Jermon Bushrod and tight end Martellus Bennett to some big money contracts.

Do you anticipate another splashy move this year? When we asked your thoughts on a splashy move in 2013, the poll results were 50/50.

The Bears are in desperate need of some talent on defense, as they need play makers at every position. If you are concerned about cap space, don't be. Cliff Stein, who is Chicago's lead contract negotiator, will find a way to get Emery all the space he needs.

Safeties T.J. Ward and Jairus Byrd are about to cash in from someone. Corners Alterraun Verner, Aqib Talib and Vontae Davis are tops at their position.

The defensive line has a deep crop of free agents, from ends Michael Bennett, Michael Johnson and Lamarr Houston to tackles Linval Joseph, B.J Raji and Jason Hatcher.

The Bears may even make a play for a productive middle linebacker like Brandon Spikes.

Maybe Chicago's splash involves bringing back Charles Tillman or Henry Melton.
