Can we cross off another position of need for the Chicago Bears?
After adding a wide receiver on Monday (link will pop), the Bears added to their running back depth today by signing Shaun Draughn, who was most recently with the Indianapolis Colts.
According to good old Wiki, his last name is pronounced drone not drawn.
Draughn was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Washington Redskins following his 2011 season at North Carolina. His most success came in 2012 while a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, when he rushed for 233 yards on 59 attempts, caught 23 balls for 158 yards and averaged 23.3 yards per kick return on 23 returns.
If you're looking for a Phil Emery connection, he was the Chiefs Director of College Scouting back when K.C. signed Draughn in 2011.
He's currently listed at 6', 205 pounds, and a peek at an old scouting report says he has good hands out of the backfield.
He was invited to the 2011 NFL Combine and back then he ran a 4.73 forty with 21 reps at 225 on the bench.
