With the draft itself wrapped up, the Bears went about the usual business of signing priority free agents, and a couple of the names stand out.
Christian Jones tops the list as a linebacker from Florida State, projected to be a second or third round draft pick, similar to offensive lineman James Brown a couple years ago. Jones comes in at a very unsettled position and could add some decent competition. Two other linebackers were also signed, in Tana Patrick and DeDe Lattimore.
Jordan Lynch adds some curiosity factor to the team, after the Bears spent a sixth-round draft pick on David Fales. Lynch probably doesn't pan out as a quarterback, but his athleticism adds some interesting possibilities as a running back including some trick possibilities.
Here's the list of Bears' undrafted free agents:
Name | Position | School |
Christian Jones | LB | Florida State |
Jordan Lynch | QB | Northern Illinois |
James Dunbar | OT | TCU |
Brandon Dunn | DT | Louisville |
DeDe Lattimore | LB | South Florida |
Tana Patrick | LB | Alabama |
Lee Pegues | DT | East Carolina |
Cody Booth | TE | Temple |
Ryan Groy | OG | Wisconsin |
