Brandon Marshall signs a three year extension

When was the last time ABC's talk-fest The View broke some NFL news?

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier today on the ABC talk show The View, this happened...

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Did you see this on <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23WCVB&amp;src=hash">#WCVB</a>? Bears WR Brandon Marshall signed a $40 million contract extension live on <a href="https://twitter.com/theviewtv">@theviewtv</a> <a href="http://t.co/3UCPAckKr9">pic.twitter.com/3UCPAckKr9</a></p>&mdash; Scott Isaacs (@ScottIsaacs) <a href="https://twitter.com/ScottIsaacs/statuses/468423822677655552">May 19, 2014</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

In case you're not sure what that is, Chicago Bears wide out Brandon Marshall tweeted the following...

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>3 year 30 million dollar extension.&#10;&#10;1,000,000 million dollar pledge to The Mental health Community.… <a href="http://t.co/t5HFNZKIYl">http://t.co/t5HFNZKIYl</a></p>&mdash; Machine Marshall (@BMarshall) <a href="https://twitter.com/BMarshall/statuses/468422467644850176">May 19, 2014</a></blockquote>

Yes he signed his contract extension on live TV.

The extension will keep him under contract through the 2017 season. The Bears haven't announced the details, but Ian Rapoport has a source...

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Bears&amp;src=hash">#Bears</a> WR Brandon Marshall is now under contract for 4 years and $40M, which includes $23M guaranteed, source says.</p>&mdash; Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) <a href="https://twitter.com/RapSheet/statuses/468425746500030465">May 19, 2014</a></blockquote>

The confusion surrounding twitter on his deal is because he was already under contract for the 2014 season, with a cap hit of $9,300,000, and this extension is for three additional years.

What do you think about this new deal for Marshall?
