Chicago Bears Training Camp 2014: August 12 recap

Today is the last training camp open to the public for the Chicago Bears and we've got all the gory details from Bourbonnais.

Before we get into the training camp recap, this is just awesome.

Tight end Dante Rosario is a new addition to the walking wounded; he was held out due to calf soreness. Brian de la Puente, Eben Britton and Jordan Mills all remain out from the offensive line. Chris Williams and Isaiah Frey are both nursing hamstrings. Matt Forte, Jeremiah Ratliff and Charles Tillman were given a veteran's day off.

With Ratliff out it was rookie Will Sutton working with the ones.

Even though Marc Trestman say's it's too early to say who's the leader for the #2 quarterback job, he did announce that Jimmy Clausen will be second in line on Thursday night against the Jaguars.

Trestman also said it was too early to tell if Chris Conte was ready for any preseason action. The starting safeties to begin today were Ryan Mundy and Danny McCray.

The Bears had a few special guests at camp today: the ESPN Monday Night Football crew and the reigning Miss Illinois.

Here are a few tweets from long time NFL guy Dan Pompei.

Then again.

And now on to a some tweets from the local beat guys.
