Chicago Bears Roster Cuts 2014: Collins, Wilson, Ford are the First Out the Door

The Bears began the process of paring down the roster to the 75-man limit by removing defensive tackle Nate Collins, safety Adrian Wilson, and running back Michael Ford, per the tweets of Brad  Biggs:

The deadline to get the roster to 75 is Tuesday, August 26th.

Ford's spot on the roster was in jeopardy once the Bears invested a fourth-round draft pick, a veteran pickup in Shaun Draughn, and a couple other well-heralded youngsters, including Senorise Perry. The Bears added Ego Ferguson and Will Sutton in the draft at tackle and expect to kick Lamarr Houston inside on a few plays; and Wilson was a tire-kicking that didn't work out.

In the time spent getting this part together, the Bears added another to the list - CB Derricus Purdy.
