The Bears aren't done yet. Today they announced making nine cuts official - seven of which we heard about yesterday, and two more today. The Bears' roster is down to 81 after making nine cuts:
- Michael Ford
- Nate Collins
- Adrian Wilson
- Dylan Gandy
- Greg Herd
- Peyton Thompson
- Derricus Purdy
- Kofi Hughes
- Joe Long
The Bears have to get to 75 by Tuesday, meaning they have six more cuts to go. The 53-man roster deadline falls on August 30, with the ability to sign ten players to the practice squad a couple days after that.
We discussed the implication of some of these cuts over here this morning. Hughes and Long were admittedly long shots to make the team given the Bears' signings at wide receiver and their progress at offensive line, but maybe they can catch on somewhere else.
