Chicago Bears 2014 Roster Cuts: Bears release RB Jordan Lynch

The Chicago Bears are slowly but surely getting down to the 53 man roster limit. Jordan Lynch is the latest to be informed he's not in the 2014 plans.

Brad Biggs was the first to report that Mount Carmel High School and Northern Illinois star Jordan Lynch was being released.

As a former quarterback transitioning to running back he faced an uphill battle. He not only had to learn a new position, he had to learn how to play special teams. As a backup running back in the NFL he would have to learn to cover kicks and how to tackle.

Lynch knew it was coming, but he hopes his versatility to be a practice squad QB when teams face mobile quarterbacks is something that could land him a job.

I think the Bears would like to add him to their 10 man practice squad. He has the football IQ and the athleticism to play in the NFL, he just needs to learn his position.

Wherever Lynch ends up, just remember we'll always have "The First Down".
