The Chicago Bears made a move on their practice squad today by adding wide out Chris Williams and waiving linebacker DeDe Lattimore.

Chris Williams had a long touchdown reception in the 1st preseason game, but on that TD play he tweaked his hamstring. The injury kept him out for the next two weeks and he wasn't able to showcase his skills until the final preseason game. At that point the Bears had already made most of their roster decisions and they also brought in veteran receiver Santonio Holmes. The Bears cut Williams in their final wave of cuts.

Williams was part of the Bears crew that was down in Florida working out at Brandon Marshalls' training facility. I think the Bears hoped he would take control of the return job, but the hamstring hurt his opportunities.

To make room for Williams the Bears waived rookie undrafted linebacker DeDe Lattimore.

Chicago's practice squad now has four receivers, Williams, Joshua Bellamy, Greg Herd and Rashad Ross.

Any thoughts on this minor move?
