The Bears may not have been planning on cutting David Fales, Kelvin Hayden and Tony Fiametta yesterday, but suffering injuries to two starting linemen and your top two receivers tends to upset plans.
So today, the Bears promoted Chris Williams, Josh Bellamy and Taylor Boggs from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

It probably means that Brandon Marshall and/or Alshon Jeffery will miss tomorrow night's primetime game against the Niners, which puts the Bears' passing game in a predicament given how much they look to Marshall and Jeffery; and the promotion of Boggs is confirmation the team needs a body with the loss of Roberto Garza and Matt Slauson, who both have high ankle sprains.
Williams was a prime candidate for the Bears' return specialist spot but lost out to Michael Spurlock, who lost his job this week; Bellamy had some flashes in the preseason and Boggs is a young developmental guy who was inactive on the 53-man roster most of last season.
We'll see how the offense looks with up to four new starters tomorrow night.
