Week 4 Monday Night Football open thread: New England Patriots at Kansas City Chiefs

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

Week 4 - and, for that matter, the first quarter of the 2014 NFL season - draws to a close with the 2-1 New England Patriots paying a visit to the 1-2 Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Patriots are coming off a 16-9 home win against the lowly Oakland Raiders and, before that, did their bit for the NFC North by beating the Adrian Peterson-less Minnesota Vikings 30-7.  There are questions over their offense, however, with Rob Gronkowski still playing his way back after knee surgery and Julian Edelman leading an underwhelming receiving corps.  Is Tom Brady hitting the quarterback age wall?

The Chiefs got their first win of the season last week, beating the Miami Dolphins (who, incidentally, handed the Patriots their only loss in the opening week of the season) 34-15 despite Jamaal Charles missing the game with injury.

From a Chicago Bears perspective, the Bears travel to face New England in week 8, the final game before Chicago's bye week and the last of five road games that they play in the first half of the season.  The Patriots also face the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers later in the season, so let's hope Gronk gets healthy after we face him and by the time those matchups roll around.....

Have fun, and Open Thread responsibly for Schweickert's sake.
