The Patriots' last appearance in the Super Bowl was in 2011, as the Giants and Eli Manning took the championship that season. Prior to that, the Patriots' last appearance was in 2008, their nearly-undefeated season coming to an end against, again, the Giants.
In order for the Patriots to make it back to the Super Bowl, this time they have to get through an opponent they've done some work against - their last three games against the Colts, two playoff matches included, have all been strong wins. This year, that included the breakout (and subsequent burial) of Jonas Gray, who picked up 201 rushing yards and four touchdowns against the Colts in Week 11.
Maybe Andrew Luck and the Colts have something of their own to unleash as they look to reach the Super Bowl for the first time in Luck's career (and the franchise's first since 2009).
