Yesterday Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported that former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was headed to Washington.
That bummed out a few Chicago Bears fans.
Earlier this morning he reported that Fangio was finalizing a deal to become John Fox's defensive coordinator in Chicago. That report was confirmed, making many Bears very happy.

This next tweet will make even more Bears' fans happy.
Source confirms #Bears hiring of Vic Fangio. Source also said that Joe DeCamillis and Mel Tucker were told they were out from get go.

Going from Mel Tucker to Vic Fangio is like going from an Applebee's rib-eye to a Gibsons Bone-In Filet Mignon.
Vic Fangio is an excellent hire as new #Bears DC. 3-4 base in SF. Multiple fronts in sub (nickel/dime). Aggressive, attacking style.

There's obviously a strong possibility that Fangio will implement his 3-4 defense, but he has worked with the 4-3 in the past. Whether he runs a 30 or a 40 front, the Bears will no doubt have multiple looks on defense.
