Before I get into the big news out of Halas Hall today, I feel the need for a brief reintroduction of that guy in the picture holding the number one jersey. His name is Kevin White. He was the first round draft pick of the Chicago Bears earlier this year and he's currently on the PUP list.
You remember him don't you?
He played his college ball at West Virginia, and he racked up 109 catches for 1447 yards with 10 touchdowns last year.
You know, Kevin White?
Seventh overall draft pick of the Chicago Bears, 6'3", 215 pounds, Kevin White?
He ran a blazing 4.35 forty at the NFL Combine and he muscled up 23 reps of 225 lbs on the bench press.
He's number 13 on the Bears roster...
A metal rod was inserted into his shin... Yeah, that's right, you remember, Kevin White!
OK, well he was spotted lightly working out at Halas Hall today and that's significant because it was the first time he was seen at practice since August. Up until today, his rehab work was all done behind closed doors, but don't get too excited.
White isn't eligible to come off the PUP list until after week 6, but he's nowhere close to being ready to actually practice. Once the Bears activate him, if they activate him, the team then has a 21 day window to determine if they should place him on their 53 man roster. The deadline for making a call either way on White is after week 11, so if White isn't ready to go by November 23rd, we probably won't see him this season.
In other Bears wide receiver news, Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) was limited for a 2nd consecutive day, as was Josh Bellamy (groin). And Eddie Royal (ankle), who missed yesterday, was back practicing on a limited basis today.
There were four Bears that missed practice today, DL Ego Ferguson (knee), CB Terrance Mitchell (hamstring), ILB Shea McClellin (knee) and S Antrel Rolle (ankle).
Other Bears practicing on a limited basis today were T Jermon Bushrod (shoulder), OLB Pernell McPhee (shoulder), G/T Patrick Omameh (ankle), DL Jeremiah Ratliff (ankle) and DL Will Sutton (elbow).
Here's how the Detroit Lions looked on their injury report.
