The Chicago Bears could have used cornerback Charles Tillman on Sunday. Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson hit the Chicago Bears early and often, and in overtime the duo put the Lions in field goal range to end the game.
The Lions beat the Bears by a final score of 37-34, and got their first win of the season. The Bears drop to 2-4 heading into their Bye week.
Two players for Chicago that earned their game checks: Pernell McPhee and Alshon Jeffery. McPhee played with reckless abandon against Detroit, and consistently disrupted Matt Stafford and the Lions offense.
Alshon Jeffery was back for the first time since the Bears Week 1 loss against the Green Bay Packers, when he tweaked a hamstring that took a month to heal. But in his first game back, he provided an instant upgrade to Adam Gase's offense, stretching the field vertically and fighting for passes that the Bears' other receivers wouldn't have been able to.
All in all, both teams left a lot of plays on the field, and Detroit just ended up making a few bigger plays than Chicago. But plenty for the Bears to improve on as they take an extra week off.
Up next: November 1st versus the Vikings.
