Report: Alshon Jeffery will not play this Sunday

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

Jeff Dickerson from ESPN is reporting that Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery will miss his third consecutive game with a hamstring injury.

Jeffery played in the season opener, bu he's been held out since then with a calf and hamstring injury. Jeffery says that his calf strain is fully healed and he's just waiting on the hammy to get better.

With Jeffery out of the lineup, the Bears top 2 wide outs will be Eddie Royal (11 receptions, 66 yards, 0 TDs) and Marquess Wilson (3/69/0).

Some are speculating that Jeffery is sitting out because he's in his contract year, but that's really all it is, speculation.

Yesterday after practice Jeffery talked about he and his offense all getting healthy, "I feel like once we're all together it's going to be something scary. It's a tough time, but it's a long season."

We'll have the official injury report for the Chicago Bears and Oakland Raiders out later today, so stay tuned...
