When you think of top-tier running backs, Matt Forte is undoubtedly still in the conversation among best in the league, especially with his dual running-receiving abilities. Forte is still just as shifty as ever and still has great vision, and at any point can shift back into a seam and run for daylight if the defense loses track of him. His speed is also significantly underrated. I won't say he has lightening speed, but he has deceptive quickness and acceleration.
When the Chicago Bears defense lines up against the Oakland Raiders this weekend, they'll have another bruising running back staring back at them: 6'3", 230 pound Latavius Murray.
Murray is in his 3rd season in the league, and through three games, he has almost identical numbers as Matt Forte:
- Forte: 59 carries, 276 yards, 4.7 YPC, 1 TD
- Murray: 52 carries, 248 yards, 4.8 YPC 2 TD
Murray had a great game last week versus the Browns, rushing for 139 yards and a touchdown. Last year he had two separate runs of 90 yards, and this year has already broken one for 54. He's big, and the guy can run.
Which running back do you think will have the better statistical day on Sunday?
Let's set a quick Over/Under for both of them, and you can let us know what you think:
O/U
- Rushing yards: 75
- Rushing TD's: 1.5
- Receiving yards: 30
How do you see this match-up working out on Sunday?
