The Chicago Bears are coming off a much-needed Bye week, which gave their players an extra week of rest and rehabilitation, and their coaching staff an extra week of preparing not only for their next opponent, the Minnesota Vikings, but also for the remainder of the season. If the Bears are hoping for a late-season run at the playoffs-- which is still a distinct possibility-- it all starts this Sunday against the Vikings, who are 4-2 and sitting in the #2 spot in the NFC North.
If we look at the remaining schedule, the Bears will essentially need to find 7 or 8 wins in their final 10 games:
- vs. Vikings
- @ Chargers
- @ Rams
- vs. Broncos
- @ Packers
- vs. 49ers
- vs. Redskins
- @ Vikings
- @ Buccaneers
- vs. Lions
This is certainly a tall order for a team with depth issues all over the field, along with the serious health issues they have faced all season long (and continue to face). Jay Cutler will have to play lights-out football, and the defense will have to put together a string of games that will keep them out of the hole.
On any given Sunday...
