The Bears are adding another veteran presence to the defensive backfield:
After Antrel Rolle left Sunday's game on a cart, the #Bears are bringing in veteran safety help. http://t.co/0YpZbLsWu3

Martin, you may recall, was with the Bears in camp this season, and was released in the last round of cuts leading up to Week 1. He was drafted in the 2nd round by the Panthers in 2009, staying there through 2012. He played with the Jaguars in 2014.
Bringing Martin is the solid, if unspectacular move. He's already familiar with the personnel and the scheme, and should be able to quickly add depth to a depleted roster. In addition to taking snaps at safety, he has taken snaps on special teams with the Bears as well, allowing flexibility with the other safeties the Bears have on their roster.
We should likely expect to see another move of some kind in the next day or so, particularly to try and address the offensive line depth, but for now, there's at least another body in the secondary.
