Earlier this week when the Chicago Bears were tinkering around with the bottom of their roster, undrafted rookie inside linebacker John Timu was released. With the in-season additions of veteran ILBs and special team stalwarts Lamin Barrow and LaRoy Reynolds, Timu was deemed expendable.
But Chicago's coaching staff and scouting department liked Timu enough to keep him around, so once he cleared waivers yesterday, the Bears signed him to their practice squad.
Timu has appeared in every game this year for the Bears on special teams making one tackle.
The Bears practice squad is again at the maximum 10 players, and in case you missed it, here they are.
Jonathan Anderson ILB
Bryce Callahan CB
Brandon Dunn DL
Jacoby Glenn CB
Barrett Jones C
Paul Lasike RB/FB
Ryan Seymour G/C
Gannon Sinclair TE
Deonte Thompson WR
John Timu ILB
You may notice that fan favorite nose tackle Terry Williams is no longer on that list, and that's because he was released earlier this week.
What are your thoughts on the practice squad players? Anyone stand out to you guys?
