The NFC North, long known as the Black and Blue division for its ground and pound running game and ferocious defenses, features two teams this afternoon each on their own mission: The 4-2 Vikings are trying to establish themselves as a team that is finally getting on track, and the 2-4 Bears as someone who is trying desperately to turn the page on the disastrous Phil Emery/ Marc Trestman regime.
The Bears benefitted greatly from a Bye week last week, getting much-needed rest and recovery for many of its key players. The offense has all of its weapons back at full speed, but will still be at the mercy of the offensive line to grind it out in the trenches.
Most have picked the Vikings to win this game on the road at Soldier Field, but I'm picking an upset.
Chicago by a score of 24-23.
This is your 1st Quarter Open Thread... Have fun!
