Both Matt Forte and Alshon Jeffery were banged up this week-- Forte has an MCL sprain that he suffered during the Bears November 1st loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and Jeffery injured a groin during practice-- and it looks like only one of them will suit up today versus the Rams.
Adam Schefter first reported that Jeffery would play this afternoon, but Matt Forte will not.
UPDATE: Ian Rapoport is stating that Eddie Royal and Pernell McPhee will also miss the Rams game with injuries. (LINK)
Jeffery was under significant scrutiny in the preseason, then again after the first game of the season against the Green Bay Packers, and missed four weeks with soft tissue injuries in his legs. He's now been back on the field three weeks in a row, and has been nothing short of phenomenal (he's gone for 147 yards, 116 yards, and 151 yards, respectively, with two touchdowns).
On the other hand, Matt Forte will continue nursing his knee injury, and rookie Jeremy Langford will get his second consecutive start this weekend against a tough Rams defense.
If Langford has as productive of a game as he did last week versus the Chargers (72 yards rushing and 70 yards receiving with 1 touchdown), there will be major questions revolving around the future of Matt Forte, who is set to be a free agent after this season.
