So far this week, all the injury news coming out of Halas Hall has been bad -- Martellus Bennett going on injured reserve and Kevin White being shut down for the season (more on that later) -- but today there may finally be some good news for Chicago Bears' fans. I guess "good" is a relative term, but the Bears could be getting a couple savvy veterans back into the lineup.
Starting safety Antrel Rolle claims he's going to play this Sunday against the Washington Redskins, although he's officially listed as questionable (50% chance to play).
Also listed as questionable is wide out Eddie Royal. Royal hasn't done much of anything since injuring his knee on October 4. The good news for Royal's chances top play on Sunday are that he did practice, albeit on a limited basis, all week long.
Other questionable Bears are nickleback Bryce Callahan (quadriceps), now starting tight end Zach Miller (ribs), outside linebacker Sam Acho (shoulder) and cornerback Tracy Porter (ankle). Callahan is a new injury this week, he tweeked his quad at practice this week and sat out today.
But now the bad news.
You just knew there'd be some bad news didn't you?
The Bears have ruled wide receiver Marquess Wilson (foot) out for Sunday's game. Outside linebacker Pernell McPhee is doubtful (75% chance he misses the game) with his sore knee.
But in regards to rookie receiver Kevin White, when head coach John Fox was asked about the report Fox said "There's always a lot of reports. Then there's facts." Then when asked if a decision was already made on White's status Fox said, "No. I think I've expressed we have until Tuesday."
So he's saying there's a chance...
Earlier today the Redskins placed former Bear Stephen Paea on injured reserve and they signed former Illinois running back Pierre Thomas. There is a good chance Thomas plays a little on Sunday.
Washington has ruled out linebacker Perry Riley, running back Chris Thompson and safety Jeron Johnson.
Defensive lineman Jason Hatcher is questionable (neck/ankle) for Washington as are TE Derek Carrier (ankle), WR Andre Roberts (knee) and LB Keenan Robinson (shoulder).
LB Will Compton (shoulder), CB Deshazor Everett (hamstring), S Dashon Goldson (knee/hamstring/wrist), CB Quinton Dunbar (finger) and CB DeAngelo Hall (toe) are all probable (25% chance they miss the game).
