The Chicago Bears entered Sunday with a very small chance at making the post-season, but at the end of the day, couldn't dispose of a weary Washington Redskins team that are going through significant challenges themselves.
There were flashes of potential, like when the team kept fighting despite being down 21-7 in the 3rd quarter, and ended up closing the gap to 21-21. At one point, it seemed that the momentum would continue, but for the 6th time this season, Robbie Gould missed a field goal, and Chicago's chances finally ended. The Bears lost 24-21, and won't enjoy having to review film later this week.
The offense shot itself in the foot all game, and the defense was soft, at best.
At the end of the day, this is not a good football team, and Chicago will have a lot of work to do with this roster in the offseason.
