In the last seven days the Chicago Bears have placed three players on season ending injured reserve. Today they decided to cut safety Antrel Rolle's season short with a sprained knee. Rolle joins Martellus Bennett (Dec. 8) and Marquess Wilson (Dec. 12) as recent additions to IR and Chicago now has 11 players on the list.
Before this season, Rolle missed only 1 game from 2008 to 2014. This year Rolle only appeared in 7. The Bears have credited Rolle with 45 tackles and a pass defense this year. With Rolle on IR, expect to see more of Chris Prosinski along side rookie Adrian Amos. The other safeties on the roster are Demontre Hurst, Harold Jones-Quartey and Sherrod Martin
To take Rolle's sport on the 53 man roster, the Bears have activated rookie offensive tackle Tayo Fabuluje off of the exempt list after his 4 game suspension.
In other Bears injury news, head coach John Fox said that wide out Marquess Wilson has undergone surgury on his left loot. Fox also reiterated that the team will make an official announcement tomorrow at 3pm in regards to rookie wide out Kevin White. They will either activate him to the active roster, which will require a corresponding roster move, or he will remain on the PUP list.
Fox also said the only way for outside linebacker Pernell McPhee to heal up is to "not have him play football." It may be in the Bears' best interests to shut McPhee down for the season.
