Last week it was reported by the Chicago Tribune that the Chicago Bears made their minds up about rookie #1 draft pick Kevin White playing this year. Today that report was confirmed.
Kevin White will not be activated.
Even though his leg is healed, there just wasn't enough time for White to get into football shape or to get his leg strength where he needed it to be. The Bears are taking the cautious approach with the 7th overall pick in the draft and you can't fault them for that.
With White remaining on the sidelines, he should be 100% ready to go for the 2016 offseason workout program.
For those that need a reminder on the kind of athlete White is, here are his numbers from the NFL combine.
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 215
Arm Length: 32 5/8"
Hands: 9 1/4"
Forty Yard Dash: 4.35 seconds
Bench Press Reps: 23
Verticle Jump: 36.6'
Broad Jump: 123'
3 Cone Drill: 6.92 seconds
20 Yard Shuttle: 4.14 seconds
60 Yard Shuttle: 11.52 seconds
Are here are his stats from his 2014 season at West Virginia; 13 games, 109 receptions, 1,447 yards, 13.3 average per catch and 10 touchdowns.
