The Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions are both out of the playoff picture, and both will close out 2015 with losing records, but both have something significant to play for: Not being in last place in the NFC North.
Each team is currently sitting at 6-9, and one of them will close out the season with double-digit losses and in the basement of the division. Nobody likes last place.
The Detroit Lions won the first match-up between the two teams this season, and when you look at the Bears schedule this season, they've struggled mightily against other NFC teams. Of course, there's the big win over the Packers on Thanksgiving, but even that's not enough to erase the blemish of a record against their own conference this season.
