So far the big injury news coming out of Halas Hall this week is both wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and defensive lineman Eddie Goldman being placed on season ending injured reserve. With only one game remaining and neither looking like they'll play, it just makes sense for the Bears to shut them down and bring in a couple new faces for an up close and personal look.
The Bears may have their hand forced with a few more youngsters if the collection of players that have yet to practice this week remains on the sideline.
Neither wide out Eddie Royal (illness), tight end Zach Miller (toe), center Hroniss Grasu (knee) nor defensive lineman Jarvis Jenkins (ankle/illness) has suited up this week.
If Royal can't go the Bears should be able to work in rookie Cameron Meredith or speedster Deonte Thompson.
If Miller's toe keeps him out, look for an increased workload from both rookie Khari Lee and newcomer Rob Housler.
Grasu missing time would get Matt Slauson back to center and Patrick Omameh back in the starting lineup at guard.
If Jenkins is held out then the Bears may turn to Bruce Gaston or the newly signed Terry Williams for more reps.
Who are some young players you're hoping to see in the season finale?
