2015 NFL Free Agency: Chicago Bears news and rumors for Wednesday, March 11

This is your open thread for day 2 of the NFL's free agency frenzy!

Here's what we know so far about the Chicago Bears.

The Brandon Marshall trade became official. He went to the Jets along with a 7th round draft pick for their 5th rounder.

The Bears gave quarterback Jimmy Clausen the league minimum ($745,000), but they sweetened the pot with a signing bonus of $262,500.

Odds are Jay Cutler will be the starting quarterback in 2015 for the Bears. David's article here.

Wide receiver Eddie Royal is in town and is close to signing.

Safety Antrel Rolle is also in Chicago and is close to signing. Kev's story here.

Outside linebacker Pernell McPhee was reported to be a new Bear, but nothing is official as of yet. My story here.

Last night McPhee tweeted out, "Hello Chicago #Bearsnation" from Vernon Hills, Illinois, so it's just a matter of time before he signs. EDIT: It's official, here's my article.

The New Orleans Saints have a number of players on the trade block, and since Chicago's general manager Ryan Pace worked in New Orleans from 2001-2014, he probably knows that roster pretty well.

Tampa Bay middle linebacker Mason Foster is still in play with the Bears as is Kansas City Chief's safety Ron Parker who will visit with the Bears today. Here's a good article about Parker from kansascity.com.

Defensive tackle Terrance Knighton is still a free agent and it seems the Raiders and Broncos are not in his plans.
