The Chicago Bears do not have a long-term plan in place for quarterback, which is a situation that most NFL teams are in. They have a short-term plan in Jay Cutler, who is being paid such a large amount of guaranteed money over 2015 and 2016 that they don't really have a choice besides keeping him or trading him.
And to trade him would mean finding a trading partner that is willing to assume that financial liability.
Jason Cole, however, says that the Bears have been heating up on former Oregon Ducks stud quarterback Marcus Mariota, and that if he is available when they pick at #7, they may be looking to pull the trigger.
Cole also trips up when he mentions a rumor about the Bears finding a trade partner with the Tennessee Titans, and didn't sound like someone who truly believed what he was saying. After all, if a source genuinely stated that a trade was being discussed, then Cole would be reporting that from the rooftops, adamant in his convictions.
Anyways, here is what Cole is stating... check out the video and let us know your thoughts.
