WCG Grades the Kevin White Pick

Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sports

Now that the Chicago Bears have had Kevin White's draft rights for less than a day, this is a perfect time to grade Chicago GM Ryan Pace's first ever draft pick!

As soon as White was selected 7th overall, Windy City Gridiron had an article up and we asked you guys to grade the pick. With nearly 2000 votes cast, you guys have overwhelmingly given the pick an A. So far, 56% of the votes gave the pick an A with 31% going with a B. I think it's safe to say our readers like the pick of Kevin White.

Let's take a gander at a few other grades.

CBS Sports gives the Bears an A as well.

I love this pick. Kevin White will help open up the passing game. Jay Cutler will love this, too. Great pick.

NFL.com also gave the selection an A.

The hometown crowd reacted positively to the pick, and it wasn't alone. New GM Ryan Pace grabbed a player with arguably the highest upside in the draft. Jay Cutler said goodbye to Brandon Marshall and hello to someone with the potential to be even better in White, which has to make him happy even if the front office might have tried to trade him. Good luck to opposing defenses trying to defend White and Alshon Jeffrey.

Chalk up another A, this one from Sports Illustrated.

There are few players in this draft class who will make Cutler happier than Kevin White, a burner who can beat just about any coverage with his raw speed and vertical physicality.

SB Nation's Dan Kadar gave Chicago a B+. Wait a minute, only a B+?

When the Bears dumped Brandon Marshall, it was obvious they needed to upgrade at the wide receiver position. White is the right direction to take with the seventh pick in the draft, though there are some issues with his game. His route running needs improved and he enters the NFL with just one season of good play in college.

So Bears' fans, now that you've had about 15 hours to digest the Kevin White pick, are you still happy about it?
