2015 NFL Draft Results: Chicago Bears select DT Eddie Goldman in 2nd Round

The Bears got a guy who was graded by many as a 1st round talent.

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

In the 2nd round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select DT Eddie Goldman (6'4, 320) from Florida State.

Goldman is a BIG man, and has incredible athleticism that could allow him to be a day-1 starter.  The Bears are in need of a disruptive interior defensive lineman for their new base 3-4 defense, and Eddie Goldman has all of the qualities they could have asked for.

He has a gigantic burst off the line of scrimmage, and will consistently draw double teams, freeing up the edge rushers to do their thing. Goldman will also be disruptive in run situations, forcing runs outside at a frenzied pace.

Goldman was graded by many as a 1st round talent, so this is a HUGE win for new general manager Ryan Pace.

For all intents and purposes, Goldman is a dangerous weapon, and will fit perfectly in Chicago's new defense.

There is a great scouting profile here: LINK
