A few weeks ago I wrote that I didn't think any Chicago Bears' player would make the annual NFL Network Top 100 players list. It wasn't because I didn't think none were deserving, it's just that I didn't think any would be voted on after such an abysmal season in Chicago. Five win teams usually don't receive many accolades.
It appears I was wrong.
After checking in at #91 on their 2014 list, Chicago running back Matt Forte leaps up to #48 in this seasons's list. I have to say I'm a little surprised that the usually under-appreciated Forte garnered so many votes.
Forte set an NFL reception record for running backs with 102 in 2014. Those receptions went for a career high 808 receiving yards and he had 4 receiving touchdowns. He went over a thousand yards rushing for the 5th time in his career with 1,038 yards. He had 6 rushing TDs and he averaged 3.9 yards per carry. He was 3rd in the NFL in yards from scrimmage.
What are your thoughts on Forte making the list?
