Chicago Bears vs Cincinnati Bengals 1st Half Open Thread

Two preseason games down, and two to go. The Bears are still resting quite a few players due to injury, so there will be some players getting extra reps in hopes of making an impact.

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bears line up tonight to face AFC North contender Cincinnati Bengals, and from the outset, the Bears will be coming out of the gate with a significant lineup disadvantage thanks to a wave of injuries.

Not in uniform tonight:

- WR Alshon Jeffery, WR Marquess Wilson, WR Eddie Royal, S Ryan Mundy, TE Chris Pantale, OLB Sam Acho

That means the starting wide receivers for Chicago will be Josh Bellamy and Rashad Lawrence. A far cry from what would have been expected a couple months ago, but certainly something that Jay Cutler can work with... especially considering his TE's and RB's that also make good targets.

But more importantly, the offense will get more snaps under their belts with new OC Adam Gase, and the newly-formed 3-4 defense more snaps under the guidance of DC Vic Fangio.

And that's what the preseason is all about: Repetitions, adjustments, and growth week over week.

We'll be here all night, so join us below for live updates and instant analysis.

This is your 1st Half Open Thread... Have fun!
