We've already brought you news on the Chicago Bears parting ways with 2 time Pro Bowl corner Tim Jennings, wide out Jeremy Kelley and longsnapper Rick Lovato, and now a second wave of cuts are announced.
The Bears will be letting the following players go;
CB Al Louis Jean
WR Levi Norwood
DL Olsen Pierre
TE Kevin Greene
OT Cameron Jefferson
TE Chris Pantale
WR John Chiles
RB Daniel Thomas
S Malcolm Bronson
Al Louis Jean had good length for the position and he saw some playing time last year as a rookie UDFA, but he wasn't able to do enough to impress the new regime.
Olsen Pierre just looked sloppy last night.
John Chiles was waived/injured as he was hurt last night.
Norwood was a good returner at Baylor, but he was clearly behind Marc Mariani, Serorise Perry and A.J. Cruz for return reps in Chicago. Last night Norwood didn't see one snap on special teams, nor did fellow unemployed teammate Jeremy Kelley.
If you're looking for a bottom of the depth chart receiving option that can play some special teams, Chicago had Cameron Meredith play on the 3rd phase for 6 plays, which led all Bear wide outs.
Chicago has one more cut to make before Tuesday afternoon.
What are your thoughts on this wave of cuts?
